In Trás-os-Montes, the most remote of Portugal’s provinces, lying in the northeastern corner of the country, are two relatively small mountains that have a vast and rich natural heritage. This film tells the story of the region’s surprising natural history, from forests to geological events, breeding birds of prey, a small butterfly that is an ant deceiver, unique plants and their carnivorous cousins - the Sundew, amazing waterfalls as well as the underwater world of the rivers that create them, and Europe’s unique diving song bird - the Dipper.
