This film follows veterinarian doctors and interns from Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo as they combine innovative technology, teamwork, and their own creative ingenuity to treat one of the most diverse groups of exotic species in the world.
Head zoo vet Dr Kathryn Gamble is faced with Madeira, a young titi monkey, who’s broken her leg; while Kwan, a 400lb silverback gorilla, needs persuading to submit to an intensive biannual physical exam including an ultrasound on his heart. Meanwhile Dr Dana Buscio ultrasounds a stork with a heart murmur, and vet technician John Pauley performs a dental procedure on the overgrown teeth of a woodchuck.
