Two Jewish families have decided to leave their homeland. Poverty and increasing anti-Semitism make life very hard and prospects for their children are virtually none. They have sold most of their belongings, taking with them only what they can carry.
A long and strenuous bus ride takes them from the Ukrainian town of Pervomaisk to Odessa Airport, where an airplane awaits them. In this vital part of their journey Christian volunteers are helping them. For the first time in history the Jews bear witness of a close co-operation between two worlds religions, who stood opposed for almost two centuries.
The arrival in Israel is the end of their journey and the beginning of the struggle for assimilation and adapting to a harsh live.
