The story of Marlice van Vuuren, who cares for orphaned wild animals which she hopes to release back into the wild.
(13 x 30 minutes)

Fourteen higly endangered Wild Dog pups arrive at Naankuse, Marlice, with the help of Zacheo meets this challenge head-on - in the mean time the leopard cubs are beginning to pose a danger to Zacheo.

When Shona, the injured baby baboon orphan, is introduced to her new friends, things don’t go all that smoothly.

In trying to find a leopard in the vast desert landscape of southern Namibia, Marlice relies on the skills of Kiewiet - an expert Bushman tracker.

Establishing the hiararchy within a troop of adult baboons is serious business but when a wild leopard gets trapped the adrenalin really starts pumping.

Three adult lions and two wild leopards have to swap enclosures, a dangerous exercise and if things can go wrong, they will.

Umbili and Shakira, the leopard cubs, are becoming a real threat to Zacheo’s safety and they have to be moved, on a more comical note the baby baboons are moved in with the juveniles.

It’s a year later, and things have changed – Marlice and Rudie have a new baby boy – and he needs to be introduced to the animals.

Even at a Wildlife sanctuary poaching can rear it’s ugly head and quick action needs to be taken.

Almost fully grown now, the wild dogs are Marlice’s prized project and biggest responsibility - when one gets bitten by a snake they move quickly to save her.

A caracal with a broken leg arrives needing immediate medical attention. When the owner of two tame cheetahs also breaks a leg, Marlice has to rescue them as well.

With all the rain came an abundance of animals - to count them Rudie takes to the air, but only after saving a cheetahs life on the operating table.

In their biggest effort to release animals back into the wild - Marlice and Rudie have to dart and capture seven cheetahs and one leopard - all in one day.

Seven cheetahs and one leopard get their first taste of freedom in an epic release effort - one that Marlice and Rudie have been dreaming about.
