Antarctica's Mt Erebus is the world's southernmost volcano. Join the Wild South team as we explore Erebus from its 3000 metre summit to its base, situated 300 metres beneath the ice surface. Using our remotely operated cameras, we take you on a rare expedition to see the incredible rich and specialised life under the ice. And then, reaching the thin atmosphere of the summit, we experience harsh blizzard conditions and discover entranceways into a stunning underworld of icy magic.
Hold your breath as the Wild South team works frighteningly close to exploding aerial lava bombs, swirling clouds of poisonous gases and a boiling sea of molten liquid rock in the crater of the volcano itself.
