A tender evocation of a metropolitan gay relationship, Andrew Haigh’s second film follows shy, charming Russell, who leaves his goddaughter’s birthday to go clubbing, and meets Glen: savvy and political, but insecure. Over the course of a weekend, the film charts the men’s burgeoning romance, and their different experiences of being homosexual. But really it’s a hopeful film about love, and about how it can make people’s true identities emerge.
