During the First World War, alongside the men were an army of animals. Mules, oxen, dogs, horses, pigs and pigeons were used for moving units, materials and communications in order to support the troops. This documentary looks at the moving stories and relationships between humans and animals including incredible moments of serenity and tenderness, alternating with the background of one of the most tragic periods in modern history.
