Mysteries Of The Rainforest
Mysteries Of The Rainforest 1 x 60'
The tropical island of Barro Colorado in the Panama Canal is home to the most studied patch of rainforest on Earth. For almost a century, scientists have traveled here to explore and understand the extraordinary biodiversity found in the forest. Spider monkeys, howlers and capuchins leap through the canopy, while a multitude of frogs and ants patrol the forest floor. Elusive kinkajous and ocelots emerge at night, while hummingbirds flit between the trees. But the island is hit hard by El NiƱo. This typically lush rainforest is caught in the throes of a severe drought and it's proving to be one of the driest years on record. Scientists can only watch and wait to see what this means for the plants and animals. Despite decades of research, there are still mysteries to uncover in this isolated patch of the rainforest.
