Episode Information

In our hectic world so much seems to pass us by. All around us dramas are playing out, but they often happen so fast that we don’t even see it: blink and you’ll miss it. But when you slow down the action a whole new world is revealed. Little lizards become velociraptors, hummingbirds aerobatic pilots and chameleons gunslingers. Slow down a little, there’s no need to rush.

How can the grasshopper generate enough force to experience 20G when it jumps? How can a chameleon launch its tongue at a speed of one hundred kilometres per hour – faster than a jet plane? And how on earth can a hummingbird fly upside down? Using technology we can start to fully understand the remarkable feats of speed, power and precision found in the natural world. Slow down and appreciate the world a little more, you might be surprised by what you see!
