Endless Knot, The
1 x 60'
In October of 1999, best friends Alex Lowe and Conrad Anker were struck by an avalanche in the Tibetan Himalaya. Alex died, while Conrad just survived. He soon began to suffer from survivor's guilt. In the months following the tragedy, Conrad and Alex's widow, Jennifer, sought each other for comfort, and unexpectedly found love. But their bond is sorely tested as Alex's three boys try to accept Conrad as a father.
Alex's death is but one of many tragedies that have unfolded when families lose loved ones in the mountains. The celebrated high-altitude Sherpa families suffer this same fate more than any other group as they work at extreme altitude as guides for Western expeditions. In this film, and honour of Alex's legacy, Jennifer and Conrad seek meaning beyond tragedy with a mountaineering school for Sherpas and high altitude workers.
