In the world of undercover espionage, loyalties are put to the test in the ultimate game of wills. In occupied Manila, nightclub manager Claire Phillips plays host to Japanese soldiers in order to divulge their secrets to the resistance; Peggy Utinsky and Naomi Flores team up to smuggle vital supplies to POWs on pain of death; swashbuckling Yoshiko Kawashima, the Chinese princess, betrays the land of her birth to serve Japan, the land of her upbringing; Betty McIntosh feeds “black propaganda” to enemy soldiers; and Elvira Chaudoir, the Peruvian heiress, finds herself at the centre of the largest naval, air and land operation in history. Each woman brings her own motivations to the table; each mission carries its own risk; but all share a common goal: don’t get caught.
