The Badlands

India’s Badlands are an extreme and unforgiving place to exist. Here, predator and prey battle for food, water and breeding rights on inhospitable desert dunes, thorny scrub, salt flats and scorched grasslands. With such extreme conditions, animals have evolved extraordinary adaptations to survive the heat and lack of water. The next generation must learn the ways of the Badlands from their dedicated parents but as arid conditions take grip, can they beat the odds and make it to adulthood?

Monsoon Forest

India’s monsoon forest is a place of sanctuary and extremes. From the long dry season drought to the relief of the monsoon deluge, all must live by the law of the seasons. Whether migrating, raising young or defending against predators, the forest’s wild residents have evolved to endure the brutal dry season. Those that survive, find respite in the lifesaving rains of the monsoon, but they face a race against time to make the most of the bountiful conditions before the dry season takes grip once more.

From the towering peaks of the Himalayas to the montane rainforests of the Western Ghats, life is a daily battle in the country’s mountains. But these ranges are a treasure trove of wildlife, and act as the last refuge for some of the country’s most tenacious species. They support the lives of wandering giants, master hunters and exotic animals, all fighting to survive India’s unforgiving frontiers.
