synopsis

Myanmar, also known as Burma. The Land of thousands of Golden Pagodas. Scattered like pearls around the country side. A country with some of the most beautiful scenery in Asia. Its culture and wildlife wrapped in mystique. A globally recognized biodiversity hotspot with unbroken habitats that harbor many endangered species, depicted in this tv-programsuch as the Dusky Leaf Monkey, Wild Asian Elephant, the Tapir, the Stump Tailed Macaques. Destination Myanmar will take the audience to some of Myanmars most beautiful and stunning Asian Heritage wetlands with fishermen paddling one-legged along shallow waters and floating gardens. The countrys wetlands and archetypical Rain forest areas are also home to more than 1000 bird species such as the Openbill Stork, Humming birds, Egrets and Glossy Ibis. With the region's remote location, limited access, and rugged landscape, the scientific exploration has been kept at a minimum, leaving this old cultural country one of the most undiscovered places on the planet.
