synopsis
Karabitsu is a chest used to deliver food every morning to a legendary monk Kukai at the inner sanctuary of Mount Koya. Wood carver Nanbu Hakuun III gathered master craftsmen from various fields of Japanese traditional artistry to produce a new Karabitsu. Taking on the production of karabitsu, which is rooted in 1200 years worth of tradition, the craftsmen combine their skills with the goal of creating a masterpiece that will last 1000 years.
