synopsis

A passionate ecologist strives to mimic the natural pack-bonding process of African Wild Dogs by capturing rogue males and females from different regions in Africa and uniting them to form a cohesive pack. The objective is to introduce the new pack into Malawi, a country where wild dogs have vanished. Working with a team of veterinarians and reserve managers, they encounter personal hardships, tragedies and the death of the Alpha female, Matika, during their journey towards a successful reintroduction and, ultimately, the continuation of the species.
