International waters constitute 61% of the global ocean. They belong to no nation, yet many vessels from all over the world exploit them. Sea Shepherd is a marine conservation group that works on the frontline to tackle problems of poaching and unregulated fishing worldwide. Groups of dedicated volunteers venture out to sea for months-long campaigns to protect marine life. They dont shy away from direct action, frequently getting into tense confrontations with poachers and fishermen. More than ever our individual actions matter in the endeavor to race extinction, because when the oceans die, we die.
