synopsis
On the remote Liuwa Plain, two spotted hyena cubs are born into rival clans at the height of the dry season. Nasanta, daughter of a powerful matriarch, inherits status and security. Twaambo, born low-ranking, faces hardship, bullying and exile. As storms ignite fires, floods reshape the land and clan wars erupt, their lives diverge dramatically. Years later, fate reunites them when Twaambo returns as a solitary adult male seeking acceptance.
