Episode Information

Wildlife filmmaker Andreas Kieling's bags are packed for a five week expedition around South Africa with his camera, crew, and faithful companion Cleo the dog. His journey will take him over 4,000km, from beautiful coastlines to craggy mountains, from parched deserts to lush pastures and breath-taking encounters with some of the world’s most incredible wildlife. Whether he's rock climbing, paragliding, abseiling or diving, the extremes of this country will challenge the adventurer. His journey moves along the cape all the way up to the East, and to the Indian Ocean and the tropical wild coast. Finally he will arrive at the Kruger National Park, one of South Africa’s famous landmarks. In between, Andreas meets locals, goes hunting with Bushmen and explores the bush side-by-side with scientists. He’s especially interested in the many Europeans who escaped the confines of their home countries to follow their dreams of a free life at the Cape.
