Disruptive Nature explores the worst natural disasters of the last 20 years. We discover just how powerful nature is and how it can disrupt whole civilizations, resulting in huge death tolls and vast economic loss. We see how these huge natural disasters have killed thousands and destroyed infrastructure. Each episode concentrates on a 2 year period beginning in the year 2000 and explore's the natural disasters that shook nations in that period. From earthquakes, to avalanches, to cyclones, we look at whether the effected area suffered more economically or through loss of life. We will explore the origin and characteristics of each of these natural phenomena and see how nature changed so many lives in a matter of hours, minutes, or, in some cases, seconds. We delve into the efforts made by countries, cities and residents to recover from these disasters and how they prepare for future inevitable events.
