With a wide variety of different habitats existing near each other, Italy is one of Europe’s largest biodiverse countries. It has a vast network of protected areas, one of them being Maremma Park in Tuscany. It’s a harsh, at times impenetrable environment located among sandy and rocky seacoasts, with wetlands, Mediterranean scrub covered hills, and vast pine forests. This is the story of Maremma over four seasons, showcasing exciting sequences, some of which have never been filmed before, detailing the dramatic challenges prey and predators face to fulfil the main purpose of their existence: survive to reproduce.
