synopsis

In the Luangwa Valley’s dry season, the Crocodile River becomes a deadly trap for its hippos. As water vanishes, carcasses pile up and crocodiles move in, while an unseen killer — anthrax — spreads through the shrinking river. Two exiled bachelor males struggle to survive after being driven out by the dominant bull, while a young mother and her calf fight to endure worsening conditions. When disease claims the mother, her calf is left alone in a perilous world. With water disappearing fast, the bachelors must decide whether to hide or fight for survival.
