Portugal's Southwest: The Coast Of The Storks
1 x 60'
This film tells the story of white-storks in southwest Portugal, the only place in the world where these emblematic animals nest on cliffs, in a unique ecosystem in the confluence of two worlds: Atlantic and Mediterranean. The storks act as symbols of this region, quite preserved over the millennia, and this documentary portrays some of its natural history and how the local human lifestyle contributes to the desired balance of the ecosystem. The film is also somewhat thought provoking: how can such a pristine wild sandy coastline cope with the new wave of tourism and modern industries?
