The Iberian Peninsula is a unique territory, and its Natural History is fascinating. To find the ‘soul’ of this territory, which is made up of Portugal, Spain, Andorra and Gibraltar, we will embark on a journey through Iberia’s wild places and get to know some of its wild inhabitants. With a stunning variety of landscapes and ecosystems, the Iberian Peninsula is like a capsule of the whole world: on an area of barely 600,000 sq km, one can find alpine environments, desert regions, deciduous forests, the biggest extension of Cork Oak forest in the world, Atlantic and Mediterranean coast, dune systems, lagoons and deltas, rugged cliffs, sand beaches and the infinity of the sea. It is full of fascinating creatures at all levels, from the big and famous to the tiny and unknown. Everyday, amazing survival stories unfold, portrayed by these characters. Some of them are violent and dramatic, while others are funny and entertaining. Throughout the series, the narrative is formed by tales of individuals from different animal species, which we will join in some crucial moments of their lives. Each episode will concentrate on a specific type of landscape: the Mediterranean forest, the Highlands, and the Coast.
