Episode Information

The oldest and largest nature reserve in Malawi was once home to around 1500 elephants. After decades of poaching, the elephant population has now dropped to below 100 animals. Plans went underway to restore the park ecosystem, which included the release of 500 elephants. This turned out to be one of the largest ever animal translocation projects in the world. Meet the team behind the project and go behind the scenes of this mammoth conservation effort.
