Episode Information

A cheetah raises her young family on the vast expanse of the Serengeti. If her cubs are going to survive, she’ll have to overcome a barrage of challenges. Only thirty percent of cheetah cubs typically make it to adulthood; the odds are not in her favour. Cheetahs are finely tuned and dangerous hunters, but they’re not in charge in these parts. Lions, gangsters of the plains, are quick to throw their muscle around, whilst gangs of hyenas and jackals attempt to steal anything the cheetah manage to kill. The young cheetah will have to learn the hunting skills their mother has perfected. She can do nought to seventy in less than three seconds and reach a top speed of one hundred kilometres per hour. Once they have learnt the ropes, they’ll make their own way across the plains, establishing their territory and having cubs of their own.
