Episode Information

Easter, not just a chocolate feast loved by children. One of the biggest events in the religious calendar, celebrated by millions and steeped in customs and traditions. And for all its different meanings there are some key characters we associate with the holiday: chicks and bunnies decorate our homes at Easter time and have become integral to our celebrations. How have these animals become a part of Easter tradition? From the hare, the original Easter mascot which was revered by Celts and Ancient Egyptians alike to mouflon, the enigmatic wild sheep that are the great ancestors to our domestic lambs often enjoyed at Easter. Not forgetting Easter characters from across the world, like the fox in Germany and even the cuckoo in Switzerland. There are many twists and turns in the story, but without a doubt this is the start of something big!
