The peaceful sight of the grazing Cape buffalo herd in the light of the rising sun conveys an atmosphere of tranquillity and serenity to the observer. A curious hyena has joined the scenery but is kept at a distance by the buffalo. While some buffalo attentively keep an eye on the herd's safety, others relax in the grass or test their strength in playful skirmishes. The hyena, too, has found company. With its other clan members, it relaxes in the glow of the morning sun—at least until the buffalo drive them away. In this harmonious scene, wildlife and its grassland backdrop intertwine to create a calm and fascinating morning tableau.
