This is the story of the contemporary Jewish exodus from the former Soviet Union to Israel. It explores the plight of the desperate Jewish people from Ukraine, who decided to leave everything and everyone behind and start a new life.
Two Jewish families have decided to leave their homeland. Poverty and anti-Semitism make life very hard and prospects for their children are virtually non-existent. They have sold most of their belongings, taking with them only what they can carry. In this vital part of their journey Christian volunteers are helping them. For the first time in history the Jews bear witness of a close co-operation between two world religions, who stood opposed for almost two centuries. The arrival in Israel is the end of their journey and the beginning of the struggle for assimilation and adaptation to a harsh life.
