With a wide variety of different habitats existing near each other, Italy is one of Europes largest biodiverse countries. It has a vast network of protected areas, one of them being Maremma Park in Tuscany. Its a harsh, at times impenetrable environment located among sandy and rocky seacoasts, with wetlands, Mediterranean scrub covered hills, and vast pine forests.
